Last-Minute Holiday Bathroom Surprise

The kids are at ages now where I can really have fun with creating the magic of Christmas for them! I came up with a master plan this year, but of course with all the shipping delays, nothing arrives on time. So for this year, our Elf on the Shelf is set to arrive on December 1st, bringing an advent calendar for each kid, starting in the bathroom. You read that right, I’m going to start the elves in the kids’ bathroom! It hit me that I spend time decorating the house how I like it for the holidays, not considering that the kids are the ones I should be decorating for. The opportunities to create Christmas magic as a parent are finite — they’re only little believers for a few years, when you really think about it!

If you’re like me, and just now coming to this realization mere days, or hours, before December 1st advent calendar time, I’ve got you covered! I ordered the cutest kids holiday decor from the H for Happy line at Bed Bath & Beyond, and I got free same-day delivery with my $39 order!! They also had options for store pickup or fast shipping!

So here’s my plan when they go to sleep on the 30th: I’m going to switch out the shower curtain, towels, and bath rugs, hang a colorful pom wreath on the door, switch out the prints in the photo frames (that I ordered for same-day pickup at Meijer), and let the “elves” have some fun with red and green bath paint! I got my Crayola bathtub paint at the Target dollar spot, but I’ll link similar slime below if you don’t have a Target nearby!
